Faith is the placebo

Mark 5:34 "Your Faith has made you well."

Gen 15:6  Abram believed the LORD, and the LORD considered his response of faith as proof of genuine loyalty

What is faith?  Lets look at the words used in these two verses. First the New Testament a Greek word :

πίστις Transliteration: pistis (pis'-tis)
Thayer Definition: conviction of the truth of anything, belief.
And then the old testament
אמן Transliteration: 'âman (aw-man')
Strong's Definition: A primitive root; properly to build up or support ; to foster as a parent or nurse; figuratively to render (or befirm or faithful, to trust or believe, to be permanent or quiet; morally to be true or certain
Because of Abraham's "aman", his faith, he was found righteous. Yeshua said "believe in me and so shall you be saved". It is by faith that we are saved. The woman with the issue of blood in Mark 5 was made well by her faith. Every thing we encounter must encounter our faith. We either believe it will work out or we doubt. Our faith is applied continually. It is called belief. There is healing but it comes not from the physician but from the healing power of faith.
Medically we call this a placebo. A placebo test is a double blind test in order to remove the faith healing from the pharmaceuticals effects where one group receives sugar pills and another the test drug. Science discovers faith in action but refuses to acknowledge its presence, thus calling it a placebo. Faith is the foundation of Christianity but not understood by many Christians. The question then returns to us, what is faith?
Yahshua gave us an instruction
Matthew
37  Jesus said to him, “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.’
38  This is the first and greatest commandment.
39  The second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself'

We are instructed to love 1st YHVH with all our heart and to 2nd love our neighbor as we love ourselves. We are not even called to love ourselves, he just knows we do so we are to love others the same way we love ourselves. What is your response to the instruction? Is your response proof of your genuine loyalty?

Faith in Christ in my opinion is obedience to His instructions. Most Christians believe that all they must do is believe in grace and they can live any way they like. They use their faith to believe in personal gain and luxuries rather than obediently following the instructions their Savior has giving them. Christians want Christ to do all the work, but faith without works is dead! When you ask YHVH for a miracle He gives you an instruction, dip seven times, walk around seven times then blow the horn, put a snake on rod etc. There is always an instruction from God and your response is the proof of your faith. This is why the scriptures say that the people say they love God with their lips but their heart is far from Him. Your faith determines how you live, what you value, and who or what you put first.

The Spirit of Love

My last post I revealed how emotions are spirits and how there are different types of spirits. There is a spirit of a man (i.e. his motives or his driving force), there is a spirit like a wind or a breathe (like an invisible force), and there is a spirit like an emotion (a feeling). My argument is that Love is a spirit but not an emotional spirit but rather a driving force. If the Holy Spirit of YHVH is Love then it would do us well to understand what Love is.  We always hear about the different types of love in the Greek. We will talk about these types of "love" but we will need to go beyond the Greek and into the Hebrew to see the Love that is YHVH. Definitions sighted from https://www.google.com/amp/s/greekcitytimes.com/2020/02/14/the-8-ancient-greek-words-for-love/ Eros (romantic, passionate love, lust) Philia (affectionate love, friendship) Agape (selfless, universal love) Storge (familiar love) Mania (obsessive love) Ludus (playful love) Pragma (enduring love) P...

Elohim

Understanding Christ has been one of the greatest problems for my Christian life. How can you follow someone you dont know or understand. It is incredibly hard to reconcile Yeshua when the church world contradicts what the scriptures tell us. Yeshua is the Son of YHVH, and no matter what Bible scholars claim He is not God.  There are a few verses that teach us a theology of the God head, Father-Son-Spirit. Some want to believe that YHVH is all three at the same time while others believe that YHVH changes modes into each one when needed, but do these ideas actually hold water?    Heb 1:3-4 KJV 3 Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high; 4 Being made so much better than the angels, as he hath by inheritance obtained a more excellent name than they.  We will need to explore many verses ...

Eat, Drink, Be Merry

Ecc 2:24 KJV There is nothing better for a man, than that he should eat and drink, and that he should make his soul enjoy good in his labour. This also I saw, that it was from the hand of God.  Many Christians fall victim to a false teaching that claims YHVH's favor can be earned through good works. Counter to this point is the fact that our righteousness is offensive to YHVH, compared to menstrual rags even.   On the other side of this misguided spectrum we find Christians that believe that we are free from the burden of sin, meaning that we can sin with no consequences.   I believe that the reality falls somewhere in the middle of these two extremes.   Ecclesiastes is considered one of the wisdom books. A deep study of Ecclesiastes should be standard for anyone trying to understand how to live biblically. Solomon explains how all our pursuits either good or wicked are pointless.   Ecc 7:16 KJV Be not righteous over much; neither m...
