Victims of Grace

Thank God that we have grace, and forgiveness, mercy and love, for without these things we would not be here today. But there is a big difference between being saved apon death and living life to your fullest potential. The last time I checked most people have one goal in mind, comfort.

Some people find comfort in love, others money but none the less it is the same goal. We want peace and stability, we want to leave the world a better place than we found it, we want more than death. The people who find a purpose in this life live fuller and happier lives. We all seek meaning in our lives, it is our very nature as humans.

Possibly this same desire for fulfillment is the reason why we lie to ourselves about our choices, justifying every mistake we make. "God made me this way" is just another way of deferring the responsibility of our choices, it is a victim statement. It says that we can not be better than we are and we are what we are because of God and not ourselves. I have stated many times that we are responsible for our faith and our choices. I believe that it does matter what you do in this life and that it will affect the next. I believe that God has given us this time so that we can learn and grow, not to be stagnant and dead.

There are two types of mindsets at the core of choice making,  a growth mindset and a fixed mindset. "God made me this way" is a fixed mindset. A fixed mind does not see potential or learn from failure, they believe they are what they are and can not change. But a growth mind understands that failure is a part of success, they perceive change through their efforts and know they can become more than they are today.

Victim mentality lies in an fixed mind. Victims blame others for their life situation, never taking responsibility for there own choices. Victims love grace. Grace is an "out" for responsibility, grace allows the fixed mind to say "Christ died because I can not become better." A fixed minded person can fall victim to grace. Take the time to look within yourself and ask the hard questions, what are we blaming on others and what are we owning? Take ownership of your life and your choices so that you can also own every blessing and reward that comes. Don't hide from your responsibility of choice, own it. God gave this life to you, take it.

Eat, Drink, Be Merry

Ecc 2:24 KJV There is nothing better for a man, than that he should eat and drink, and that he should make his soul enjoy good in his labour. This also I saw, that it was from the hand of God.  Many Christians fall victim to a false teaching that claims YHVH's favor can be earned through good works. Counter to this point is the fact that our righteousness is offensive to YHVH, compared to menstrual rags even.   On the other side of this misguided spectrum we find Christians that believe that we are free from the burden of sin, meaning that we can sin with no consequences.   I believe that the reality falls somewhere in the middle of these two extremes.   Ecclesiastes is considered one of the wisdom books. A deep study of Ecclesiastes should be standard for anyone trying to understand how to live biblically. Solomon explains how all our pursuits either good or wicked are pointless.   Ecc 7:16 KJV Be not righteous over much; neither m...

The Spirit of Love

My last post I revealed how emotions are spirits and how there are different types of spirits. There is a spirit of a man (i.e. his motives or his driving force), there is a spirit like a wind or a breathe (like an invisible force), and there is a spirit like an emotion (a feeling). My argument is that Love is a spirit but not an emotional spirit but rather a driving force. If the Holy Spirit of YHVH is Love then it would do us well to understand what Love is.  We always hear about the different types of love in the Greek. We will talk about these types of "love" but we will need to go beyond the Greek and into the Hebrew to see the Love that is YHVH. Definitions sighted from https://www.google.com/amp/s/greekcitytimes.com/2020/02/14/the-8-ancient-greek-words-for-love/ Eros (romantic, passionate love, lust) Philia (affectionate love, friendship) Agape (selfless, universal love) Storge (familiar love) Mania (obsessive love) Ludus (playful love) Pragma (enduring love) P...

The answer is Yeshua

Its no wonder that the Christian faith is dying. Every Christian seems to have the answers to life but none of them agree on what they are. What is the name of God? Is Jesus God or the Son of God? Is the Sabbath on Saturday or Sunday or seven days after the new moon? Is the new moon of the bible the full moon of today? Can we eat pork? Is the cross on your wall a graven image? What if we disobeyed our parents, does that mean I am going to die young?  Somewhere we have lost the point of the Gospel of Yeshua, The Salvation of YHVH. What does it mean to follow Yeshua? It would seem that most Christians believe it means to act like God.  The highest capacity churches are not preaching a message of repentance. The megachurches are preaching power to get health and wealth. Some by money and some by acts. Some churches teach of "the power of prayer" and "prayer circles" to see the manifestation of desires. They call these "miracles".  Some churches teach that we...
