Rom 2:13-15 NET 13 For it is not those who hear the law who are righteous before God, but those who do the law will be declared righteous. 14 For whenever the Gentiles, who do not have the law, do by nature the things required by the law, these who do not have the law are a law to themselves. 15 They show that the work of the law is written in their hearts, as their conscience bears witness and their conflicting thoughts accuse or else defend them,
Church leaders will tell you that if you don't go to church or pay your tithes then you can not go to heaven or be a good christian, but as you just read none of that's true. God looks to the motive of the heart not the act of the body. Their conscience bears witness! Knowing what your doing is wrong is sin, believing it is right and just defends you in the Holy courts. The law was written on our hearts and our conscience is the result there of. The idea that salvation is tied to an act is a misunderstanding of biblical principles. Christ said to believe in Him and we will be saved but the belief in Christ is misinterpreted. I have stated in many post that belief is more than excepting He existed but rather believing in the instructions He gave us. Following these instructions are the key to salvation. So if we must do what he said then it would seem that salvation is tied behind an act, but it is not the act that saves but rather the motive.
Pro 16:2 NET All a person’s ways seem right in his own opinion, but the LORD evaluates the motives.
The question is why are you doing what you are doing. Are you consciously aware that what your doing is wrong? If so then that is sin. Are you truly in agreement with God or purposefully doing what you know to do? This is why the more you know the more you will be held accountable. It is not the act that saves but your motive. Do what you know is right, without fear of consequence, and put others first for what you do for others God will do for you. If your heart doesn't agree with a church instruction then check your heart, do all that you know is right and let God handle the rest. The church has no power over your salvation nor do they override Gods Word. Take it apon yourself for each man works out his own salvation.
