Comfort is cancer to the spirit. It is when we find ourselves uncomfortable that we are motivated to change. The complacency of comfort leads to spiritual atrophy. When you are not using your faith it becomes weakened, or worse, forgotten. Our modern world tells us that comfort in this life equals success, the problem is that we are not living for this life as a Christian. More accurately the problem is that Christian's have forgotten their purpose, why we have hope, and what we are looking forward to.
Rom 8:36 KJV As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.
There is comfort for the believer, it comes from YHVH! We are called to take up our cross, self death, and follow Yeshua. We share in His suffering, doing what is right no matter what it cost us. Trust in YHVH to take care of your needs and stop seeking your comfort. Seek first YHVH and His will, pursue Yeshua and take care of others needs before your own.
2Co 1:3-4 KJV 3 Blessed be God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort; 4 Who comforteth us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God.
YHVH, Yeshua, others, that is the order of our efforts. Stop seeking peace in your life, seek to produce peace in the lives of others. When we take up the cross we take on persecution and suffering, compassion for the lost leads to sorrow and grief. These are the things that we shall seek, death to self and life to Yeshua! Remeber what we are awaiting, stop trying to have your best life now and start storing your treasures in Heaven. Please Christian, I beg you to read your Bible and remeber the Lord before you get to comfortable with your peaceful life. Seek YHVH and His will not peace and comfort. Allow our Father in Heaven to provide for you peace and comfort, its is for you to give peace and comfort to others! Without Yeshua we have no hope, no future, and no peace.
