Understanding Christ has been one of the greatest challenges of my Christian life. How do you follow someone you don’t fully grasp? The church often contradicts Scripture on who Yeshua truly is. Yeshua is the Son of YHVH. He is not the Father, yet He is the perfect expression of the Father, the eternal Word through whom the Father created and sustains all things.
Hebrews 1:3-4 KJV Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high; Being made so much better than the angels, as he hath by inheritance obtained a more excellent name than they.
John 14:10-11 KJV Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? the words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works. Believe me that I am in the Father, and the Father in me: or else believe me for the very works’ sake.
Yeshua speaks what the Father gives Him. The Father works through Him. This is not the Father speaking to Himself. This is the Son, indwelt and empowered by the Father, perfectly united yet distinct.
Hebrews 1:1-3 KJV God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets, Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds; Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high.
The Father creates through the Son. The Son is the visible image of the invisible God. He upholds all things by the word of His power, the same word that proceeded from the Father from eternity.
John 1:1-4 KJV In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. In him was life; and the life was the light of men.
The Word was with God and was God, not as a second deity, but as the eternal expression of the one God. The Father is the source; the Word is His perfect self-revelation. All things were made by the Father through the Word. Yeshua is that Word made flesh.
Colossians 1:15-16 KJV Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature: For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him.
Philippians 2:6-11 KJV Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross. Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
The Son was equal in nature, yet submitted in role. He did not grasp at authority. He obeyed unto death. His exaltation brings glory to the Father. This is Love in action.
Love is the Spirit that binds Father and Son. YHVH is Love. Yeshua is Love incarnate. The Spirit is Love. One God. One expression. One Spirit.
Genesis 1:1 KJV In the beginning Elohim created the heaven and the earth.
Elohim is plural in form but singular in meaning when applied to YHVH. It speaks of majesty, not multiplicity. The Father speaks, the Word goes forth, the Spirit empowers. One will. One purpose. One God.
There is no three-in-one puzzle. There is the Father, the Son who is His Word and Image, and the Spirit who is Love. Yeshua never claimed to be the Father. He revealed the Father. He submitted to the Father. He leads us to the Father.
If we are to be like Yeshua, we stop trying to be God. We stop grasping control. We trust the Father to work through us. Salvation is by faith, not by works. Faith means surrender. Faith means letting the Word dwell in us and the Spirit of Love lead us.
There is One God, One Son who is His Word, and One Spirit, Love.
