Spirits

SpiritsUpdated October 2025
John 4:24 KJV God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.
Let me ask a question that may feel uncomfortable at first. If God is a Spirit, why do we try and create a second spirit? Scripture says YHVH is Spirit, yet we often speak of “the Spirit of God” as if it were separate. In my opinion it isn’t. There is one Spirit, and that Spirit is Love.
Scripture names many spirits: spirit of jealousy, spirit of fear, a broken spirit, a contrite spirit, even evil spirits. But the spirit of a man is his core motive, his driving force, not an emotion. In the Book of Enoch (not canon, but helpful here), the Nephilim are punished and their spirits bound to the earth. Those restless spirits are what we call demons, I wonder what there motives could be.
Spirits and emotions are deeply linked. Anger, fear, envy, lust, these are not mere feelings; they are spirits. So when every motive is ruled by raw emotion, a man becomes demonic. Those emotions do not rise from the spirit of a man; they are planted by Satan and his hosts. We do not invent thoughts; they are whispered, shaped, and amplified from outside.
Expectations breed anger when unmet. The lie that we must control our own lives is passed down like a family curse, taught by deceived parents who learned it from the father of lies. The antidote is the Spirit, Love.
1 John 4:8 KJV He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love.
Love is not an emotion. Love is motive. Love is choice. The value of a man is in his choices, his works. Feelings move the flesh; motives flow from Spirit.
Galatians 5:22-23 KJV But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.
Joy is chosen, not felt. Gentleness chooses humility over strength. Longsuffering chooses another’s good over my ease. Love is character, not chemistry. To love is to die.
YHVH is Light and Love. Love is the Holy Spirit who dwells in us with unimaginable patience, waiting for us to master the evil spirits we mistake for “just emotions.” Yeshua is the Word of YHVH made flesh, the eternal Logos, the perfect image of the invisible Father. He is Light, and Love expressed. Father and Son share one Spirit; that Spirit is Love. There is One Father, One Son, and One Spirit, Love.

  1. Let me just say that is all true but making sure that you get He is also a person as well as a Spirit, we were made in His image. Yeshua sits on the Throne next our Father. Great article, never was hung up the Trinity but I do understand the Holy Spirit is His Spirit.

Eat, Drink, Be Merry

Ecc 2:24 KJV There is nothing better for a man, than that he should eat and drink, and that he should make his soul enjoy good in his labour. This also I saw, that it was from the hand of God.  Many Christians fall victim to a false teaching that claims YHVH's favor can be earned through good works. Counter to this point is the fact that our righteousness is offensive to YHVH, compared to menstrual rags even.   On the other side of this misguided spectrum we find Christians that believe that we are free from the burden of sin, meaning that we can sin with no consequences.   I believe that the reality falls somewhere in the middle of these two extremes.   Ecclesiastes is considered one of the wisdom books. A deep study of Ecclesiastes should be standard for anyone trying to understand how to live biblically. Solomon explains how all our pursuits either good or wicked are pointless.   Ecc 7:16 KJV Be not righteous over much; neither m...

The Spirit of Love

My last post I revealed how emotions are spirits and how there are different types of spirits. There is a spirit of a man (i.e. his motives or his driving force), there is a spirit like a wind or a breathe (like an invisible force), and there is a spirit like an emotion (a feeling). My argument is that Love is a spirit but not an emotional spirit but rather a driving force. If the Holy Spirit of YHVH is Love then it would do us well to understand what Love is.  We always hear about the different types of love in the Greek. We will talk about these types of "love" but we will need to go beyond the Greek and into the Hebrew to see the Love that is YHVH. Definitions sighted from https://www.google.com/amp/s/greekcitytimes.com/2020/02/14/the-8-ancient-greek-words-for-love/ Eros (romantic, passionate love, lust) Philia (affectionate love, friendship) Agape (selfless, universal love) Storge (familiar love) Mania (obsessive love) Ludus (playful love) Pragma (enduring love) P...

The answer is Yeshua

Its no wonder that the Christian faith is dying. Every Christian seems to have the answers to life but none of them agree on what they are. What is the name of God? Is Jesus God or the Son of God? Is the Sabbath on Saturday or Sunday or seven days after the new moon? Is the new moon of the bible the full moon of today? Can we eat pork? Is the cross on your wall a graven image? What if we disobeyed our parents, does that mean I am going to die young?  Somewhere we have lost the point of the Gospel of Yeshua, The Salvation of YHVH. What does it mean to follow Yeshua? It would seem that most Christians believe it means to act like God.  The highest capacity churches are not preaching a message of repentance. The megachurches are preaching power to get health and wealth. Some by money and some by acts. Some churches teach of "the power of prayer" and "prayer circles" to see the manifestation of desires. They call these "miracles".  Some churches teach that we...
