It's not your power

Why do so many churches teach that God gives you power? They teach that we can heal others, command demons, and establish wealth. It's time we address these false teachings for one reason, it's not your power.

What I see the most is pastors or preachers attempting to use the scriptures as a grimoire, a spell book of sorts. They will tell you things like walk around your car seven times and on the seventh pass shout out and like the walls of Jericho all obstacles in your way will fall, or if you trust God with a seed donation of $1000.00 you will receive a blessing from the Lord... These are examples of witchcraft.

A spell or an incantation is always the same, if you do this or say that then this will happen. When a church tells you that doing this or saying that will result in a blessing they are teaching witchcraft. The Bible did not originate with chapter and verse. These numbered sections of the Bible are a result of occultism often referred to as kabbalah.

Kabbalah itself would require more than a quick blog post to truly explain but in short it is  mysticism or magical application of biblical knowledge. It is important to understand why the Bible was broken up into chapter and verse when discussing the improper use of the scriptures and why people believe the deceptions being promoted.

Many people will point to a specific chapter verse to support an idea that implies an ability or power being imputed onto a believer and/or a non-believer. Let's look at one such example.

Luk 10:18-19 KJV 18 And he said unto them, I beheld Satan as lightning fall from heaven. 19 Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.

Here in Luke chapter 10 verse 19 it is written that Jesus gave power to seventy people, but in verse 19 it does not say seventy people... it says you. By taking the verse out of context and isolating it we now read that we have power given to us. But in fact it was to the seventy, even more so it wasnt even their power. When you read the whole verse we see that it was Christ working through the seventy.

Luk 10:16-17 KJV 16 He that heareth you heareth me; and he that despiseth you despiseth me; and he that despiseth me despiseth him that sent me. 17 And the seventy returned again with joy, saying, Lord, even the devils are subject unto us through thy name.

The message of Christ was that YHVH did all things through Christ, it wasnt even Christs power. YHVH works through Christ, Christ lives within us once we are born of the Spirit. When we are born of the Spirit we walk in Love and YHVH is Love. When we give up our lives and take up our daily cross we allow Christ to work through us. It is Christ, Yeshua, that does the will of His Father. We must decrease so that He can increase.

Again we will look at Luke chapter 10 to see how Yeshua responded to the joy that the seventy felt about such power.

Luk 10:18-20 KJV 18 And he said unto them, I beheld Satan as lightning fall from heaven. 19 Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you. 20 Notwithstanding in this rejoice not, that the spirits are subject unto you; but rather rejoice, because your names are written in heaven.

Our joy does not come from power, our joy comes from knowing that Christ lives within us! When we call on Him, He is there, doing the will of His Father. When we take a verse out of context or try and insert ourselves into the Bible we fail to understand the truth. The scriptures must be read as a whole, in context. We must not practice any form of witchcraft, even if its Bible based witchcraft. Please hear and see this truth, it's not your power...

The Spirit of Love

My last post I revealed how emotions are spirits and how there are different types of spirits. There is a spirit of a man (i.e. his motives or his driving force), there is a spirit like a wind or a breathe (like an invisible force), and there is a spirit like an emotion (a feeling). My argument is that Love is a spirit but not an emotional spirit but rather a driving force. If the Holy Spirit of YHVH is Love then it would do us well to understand what Love is.  We always hear about the different types of love in the Greek. We will talk about these types of "love" but we will need to go beyond the Greek and into the Hebrew to see the Love that is YHVH. Definitions sighted from https://www.google.com/amp/s/greekcitytimes.com/2020/02/14/the-8-ancient-greek-words-for-love/ Eros (romantic, passionate love, lust) Philia (affectionate love, friendship) Agape (selfless, universal love) Storge (familiar love) Mania (obsessive love) Ludus (playful love) Pragma (enduring love) P...

Elohim

Understanding Christ has been one of the greatest problems for my Christian life. How can you follow someone you dont know or understand. It is incredibly hard to reconcile Yeshua when the church world contradicts what the scriptures tell us. Yeshua is the Son of YHVH, and no matter what Bible scholars claim He is not God.  There are a few verses that teach us a theology of the God head, Father-Son-Spirit. Some want to believe that YHVH is all three at the same time while others believe that YHVH changes modes into each one when needed, but do these ideas actually hold water?    Heb 1:3-4 KJV 3 Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high; 4 Being made so much better than the angels, as he hath by inheritance obtained a more excellent name than they.  We will need to explore many verses ...

Eat, Drink, Be Merry

Ecc 2:24 KJV There is nothing better for a man, than that he should eat and drink, and that he should make his soul enjoy good in his labour. This also I saw, that it was from the hand of God.  Many Christians fall victim to a false teaching that claims YHVH's favor can be earned through good works. Counter to this point is the fact that our righteousness is offensive to YHVH, compared to menstrual rags even.   On the other side of this misguided spectrum we find Christians that believe that we are free from the burden of sin, meaning that we can sin with no consequences.   I believe that the reality falls somewhere in the middle of these two extremes.   Ecclesiastes is considered one of the wisdom books. A deep study of Ecclesiastes should be standard for anyone trying to understand how to live biblically. Solomon explains how all our pursuits either good or wicked are pointless.   Ecc 7:16 KJV Be not righteous over much; neither m...
