Self condemnation

It is said that you can not be forgiven unless you forgive yourself first. The Word says that God will forgive you of anything if you will only return to him, think about the prodigal son. Here is where it gets tricky, most believers want to be forgiven but not to return. They want atonement for their future sins because they already have plans to sin.

It is true that you can be filled with self loathing, because you believe that what you have done is so horrible that there is no way God could love you, and you can get angry with yourself or lose faith in yourself. And it is true that you may need to learn to forgive yourself before you can recognize that God has already forgiven you. But it is not true that God can be manipulated into forgiving the sinful intent of your heart.

Why are you doing what your doing is more important to God than what you are doing. Lets say you hit someone with your car, imagine that you killed them, now imagine that its a 12 year old boy that ran into the street chasing a ball, imagine the burden of grief this would cause, imagine asking the parents for forgiveness, imagine asking yourself for forgiveness. Self condemnation is not the same thing as knowing what your doing is wrong. Self condemnation comes from not knowing you can be forgiven or a felling of unworthiness.

You may be condemning yourself with your actions and there is forgiveness, but forgiveness comes when the intent of your heart is returned to Gods love. Atonement for future sins is a ploy to convince you that God is O.K. with sin, like getting permission. Its not true. It wasn't true for Sodom and Gomorrah, it wasn't true for the Israelites, and it isn't true for you.

YHVH said, through Christ, that if a righteous man turns his ways to sin then every righteous act will be forgotten and if a sinful man turns toward righteousness then every sinful act will be forgotten. That's forgiveness. Don't try and justify you evil intentions, God knows your intentions.

If you have done something wrong or caused something terrible to happen and are feeling greatly pained by your actions then turn to God, seek Him and humble yourself, He has already forgiven you. Find counseling or therapy to help you to forgive yourself and know that God loves you. But if your trying to find a way to get into Gods good graces and still live a life of sin then you may not like the results you will get.

Sin is like a drug and if you find yourself struggling with not sinning, again God knows your heart and He knows if you hate your sin or love it. Be real with yourself, you are not perfect, but don't think your fooling God. Its why you sin that is important, not how you sin. If your in an addictive cycle of sin fix your heart on God and His Word and I know He will forgive you even while your struggling to stop sinning, but using Gods forgiveness as a reason to sin will leave you empty.

The Spirit of Love

My last post I revealed how emotions are spirits and how there are different types of spirits. There is a spirit of a man (i.e. his motives or his driving force), there is a spirit like a wind or a breathe (like an invisible force), and there is a spirit like an emotion (a feeling). My argument is that Love is a spirit but not an emotional spirit but rather a driving force. If the Holy Spirit of YHVH is Love then it would do us well to understand what Love is.  We always hear about the different types of love in the Greek. We will talk about these types of "love" but we will need to go beyond the Greek and into the Hebrew to see the Love that is YHVH. Definitions sighted from https://www.google.com/amp/s/greekcitytimes.com/2020/02/14/the-8-ancient-greek-words-for-love/ Eros (romantic, passionate love, lust) Philia (affectionate love, friendship) Agape (selfless, universal love) Storge (familiar love) Mania (obsessive love) Ludus (playful love) Pragma (enduring love) P...

Elohim

Understanding Christ has been one of the greatest problems for my Christian life. How can you follow someone you dont know or understand. It is incredibly hard to reconcile Yeshua when the church world contradicts what the scriptures tell us. Yeshua is the Son of YHVH, and no matter what Bible scholars claim He is not God.  There are a few verses that teach us a theology of the God head, Father-Son-Spirit. Some want to believe that YHVH is all three at the same time while others believe that YHVH changes modes into each one when needed, but do these ideas actually hold water?    Heb 1:3-4 KJV 3 Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high; 4 Being made so much better than the angels, as he hath by inheritance obtained a more excellent name than they.  We will need to explore many verses ...

Eat, Drink, Be Merry

Ecc 2:24 KJV There is nothing better for a man, than that he should eat and drink, and that he should make his soul enjoy good in his labour. This also I saw, that it was from the hand of God.  Many Christians fall victim to a false teaching that claims YHVH's favor can be earned through good works. Counter to this point is the fact that our righteousness is offensive to YHVH, compared to menstrual rags even.   On the other side of this misguided spectrum we find Christians that believe that we are free from the burden of sin, meaning that we can sin with no consequences.   I believe that the reality falls somewhere in the middle of these two extremes.   Ecclesiastes is considered one of the wisdom books. A deep study of Ecclesiastes should be standard for anyone trying to understand how to live biblically. Solomon explains how all our pursuits either good or wicked are pointless.   Ecc 7:16 KJV Be not righteous over much; neither m...
