Can we stop asking people to pray for us? Asking other people to pray for you implies that a. you dont trust Yeshua (Jesus) or b. you believe that you can manipulate YHVH. Prayer is either a. worship or b. intercession.
There are problems in our current prayer culture. "Christians" are trying to manipulate YHVH into doing what they want while denying a person in need a solution to their need. It begins in the church and the twisting of scripture to play on the egos of believers who seek personal power and personal gain.
My heart is grieved every time I see someone ask for prayers. I understand that we are taught about the power of prayer and there is truth to that but prayer is not able to manipulate YHVH.
Yeshua is interceding on our behalf, what more can we do than that which Yeshua is already doing? How is this concept not understood by "Christians"? We are called to pray for others out of Love, we intercede for others because of Christ within us. It is the heart of Christ to ask YHVH to help those that we cannot help ourselves.
This brings me to the second problem with this misguided prayer culture. When we see a need instead of trying to fulfill that need we pray that YHVH will fulfill their need and we just walk away. We are physical bodies in a physical world that requires physical interventions to be a blessing for others physical needs. It is our duty as Christian's to not see possessions as our own but rather as being YHVH'S possessions. That means that when we see a need and have the solution at hand that we are required to provide that solution.
I want to provide a practical solution to our current prayer culture problems. Do all things in Love for one another, do not worry about what you will wear or what you will eat but rather trust YHVH, be moved by compassion for the needs of others and when a solution is at hand be physically moved into action to bless one another, and when you are at a loss ask YHVH to provide a solution if it is His will.
Remember that we are to be complacent in all things and be thankful for every good and bad thing in our lives. Crying to others to pray for us implies that we are not complacent or thankful for our hard times but rather disappointed with YHVH and seek others to move YHVH into blessing us. And that is wrong. We can cry out to YHVH directly and He does hear us, if it is His will He will move on your behalf but even is He doesn't move we still praise Him.
YHVH is sovereign and He will bless who He wants to bless and He will curse who He wants to curse. We have no power over YHVH. We can not manipulate YHVH into becoming our servant, He is our Elohim and we are to worship Him not for what He has done but for who He is.
Pray for others, their is power in prayer, but do not seek the prayers of others. In fact our prayers are to be done in secret so that we get no personal gain from our prayers. Trust YHVH and find comfort in your situation knowing that Yeshua is within us and that YHVH is working through Yeshua. Put others first and become Love.
